“Basic Daily Supplement Regimen” Tips

  • Dr. Oz says you should have a specific health target when developing your supplement regimen.  You may want to take supplements to boost weight loss, to improve your skin and anti-aging, for bone health, heart health.  But whatever your target is, choose your supplements and regimen specific to that target.
  • Dr. Oz recommends taking no more than 5 different supplements daily.  If you do find you need more, consult your pharmacist about interactions between the supplements.
  • When taking a multivitamin, use a low-dose vitamin that would contain normal amounts that you would have eaten in food (100% Daily).  Take half in the morning and half at night.  That way you will spread the vitamin benefits through out the day and not urinate out the vitamins of one pill early in the day.
  • Calcium magnesium. Do not take with a multivitamin. Dr. Oz says they will bind to each other and become ineffective and will lose their vitamin benefits.  But do take with your Vitamin D.
