Carbohydrates

Daily Values – 300 grams MAXIMUM per day. Carbohydrates are the starches and sugars in food that our bodies need for energy. But over consumption of processed cereals, cakes, cookies and candies that typically contain “empty calories” can lead to obesity and other related health problems like diabetes and heart disease.  Get your ‘carbs’ from healthier sources such as whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables.
