Oprah: One minute of silence a day can make you Happier!

On an Oprah Show episode about What Makes us Happy, it was revealed that one key factor is a litte time in silence.

It was revealed that studies at Harvard University have shown That  Just 10 Minutes of Quiet time a Day Increases Happiness.

Sounding like she was speaking from experience, Oprah declared, and guaranteed that our lives will get better if you do this. Goldie Hawn was a guest that day agreed with Oprah that throughout the day, if you give yourself just a minute, it will make a big difference in your day and mental perspective. They suggest that you don’t need to call it meditation, but call it your time out. Go in your bathroom, shut the door, and be alone with your thoughts for one minute.  And if the one minute is working for you, then give it a minute and a half to two minutes.  There must be something to this because Deepak Chopra, renowned spiritual guru, during an appearance on the Dr. Oz Show, said he teaches his sons to meditate one minute a day for each year of their age.  So at one-year-old they would sit quietly for one minute a day and when they turned two they would sit quietly two minutes a day.  Something to think about!
