Probiotics vs prebiotics

Dr. Oz explains that probiotics are the good bacteria that live in our gut. They can also be found in food sources such as yogurt.  They are necessary for a healthy digestive system and keeping us free of bloating, constipation, diarrhea and stomach pain.  But to keep these good bacteria alive, they need to be constantly fed with prebiotics.  These are found in plant-based foods such as bananas, cooked whole grains, garlic and onions and even honey.  To maintain healthy intestinal flora (bacteria living in your intestines) try to eat two to four servings per day.
