Selenium

Selenium is an essential trace element that works with Vitamin E, to produce a potent antioxidant, glutathione, which helps promote a healthy immune system that helps us fight off illness.
It also helps the regulation of thyroid hormones. Dr. Oz says eating selenium rich foods such as mushrooms and Brazil nuts with iodized salt can help recharge a sluggish thyroid,  promoting increased energy and weight loss.  Dr. Oz advises eating 5 servings of nuts throughout the week, because the selenium in nuts can help you prevent cataracts.  Cod contains selenium which Dr. Oz says can help safeguard our skin from sun damage and cancer.
